Verizon 5G home blocks website

Might’ve been some reason, but it sucks. The 3.3.x version was working a lot better for me, now I’m back to sites maybe loading, maybe not. Connecting to VPN seems to solve it for some reason, but doesn’t help with my other devices.

That gateway has issues with pass through. There’s a forum somewhere (I don’t have it handy) with some guidelines that basically say you need to change your MTU settings to 1420 and MSS clamping settings to something lower (I don’t remember what exactly)

That gateway has the most issues with IP pass-thru mode.

I have the same modem/router and can access the site without issues

I don’t know what they will do, but getting a different modem/router meant setting up a whole new “5g”account for me, they wouldn’t just swap the ASK for the ARC because of my IP-pass through issues.
I had to add a second 5g modem/router (the ARC) to my account and then I was supposed to set it up and then cancel the ASK line once the ARC was setup, they said thats the only way they can do it.
Since you are keeping a line with Verizon and technically just switching equipment maybe the promotion just transfers… I don’t know, I don’t usually go for those things.
Easiest way to go around it and be fully in-charge of your network is to buy a cheap 5G modem/gateway.
I assume you are using your own wifi router.

Replacing gateway equipment doesn’t impact eligibility to pre redeemed or redeemed LTE/5G promotions. Downsizing from a Plus premium plan to LTE or 5G Home, or, canceling the service plan within 180 days of activation date.Internet promo info: https://www.verizon.com/home/internet/

That’s coming from upstream in Verizon’s network. I don’t know of anyway to change the DNS for the modem, but if you are using it in passthrough then your router on the other side of that probably has a way to set the DNS. I set primary to 8.8.8.8 and secondary to 8.8.4.4.

The other way to deal with it if it is a problem with passthrough is to turn passthrough off, shut off the Verizon router WiFi networks and make sure your router doesn’t use the same network (use like 192.168.10.xxx) so there’s not any DHCP contention. You end up with double NAT, but all that really adds is a tiny amount of latency. I don’t use passthrough.

Apparently I have a different modem than you do and perhaps it’s a problem with the modem firmware. I have the ARC-XCI55AX.
