Linus hase’nt recommended PIA in a long time. My subscription with them is over and I was wondering if LTT has endorsed a new privacy centered VPN or if there is any reason they stopped promoting PIA.
afaik they’ve been purchased by some shady company a few years ago, and it was recommended to stay away from it in privacy community, protonvpn and mullvad the most recommended one’s
I use ProtonVPN personally, and I’m happy with it
I don’t know if they have endorsed a VPN since PIA, but I’ve been using surf shark for a long while now and i like it.
I enjoyed using AirVPN
Check out mysterium vpn a decentralized vpn run by the people…
Wasn’t that Tunnelbear ?
They got bought out by McAfee. I use surfshark and only have about 8% drop in speed. Pia made my speeds trash. I mainly chose surfshark because of it being outside all levels of “eyes”, speed and price.
Surfshark is who I switched to.
Not sure why you got downvoted but Mullvad does seem to be the best option at the moment. I’ll be moving to them once my PIA subscription is up.
I have thought about it. I might do that thanks
The downside is that if you’re using it for “Arrr!” reasons, the endpoint is still in your name so you’ve really only just shifted the problem
The advantage of shitty internet is I don’t see a drop in speeds at all lol
If you’re using a VPN service explicitly for this reason, definitely look for VPS in privacy-friendly and “Linux ISO” friendly countries like Luxembourg.
I didn’t know that. Tanks
