Hi guys,
I’m new to the SilverPeak SD Wan my back ground is Cisco ASA with IPSEC tunnels between sites and we would have ACLs defining interesting traffic that we wanted to tunnel between sites,
I’m trying to take this understanding and apply it to SilverPeak and find out the equivalent in SilverPeak.
Where do you specify which type of traffic you want to be tunnelled etc on ASA firewall it would just be an ACL.
Thanks
From a high level you can define what traffic can go into an overlay based on appliance acl, overlay acl or port. This isn’t the old cli options though. You can define traffic in the acl based on application groups, applications and a bunch of other things like source/destination. Go to configuration then business intent overlays and when you start poking around there think “worlds most powerful GUI route map” there’s a match which would be your acl or port then everything else is a set type command.
Also go to the silver-peak.com site and sign up for training it’s all really good.
Thank you for drawing the comparison to Cisco it’s helped me understand that screen way better it was hell confusing before.
yeah you can match with wildcards too it is really powerful, I have noticed and SP will tell you this that application matching is prioritized
I found it easier in some case to make an application and just match on the application
