Youtube blocking videos when VPN is activated. [iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and Android]

Videos from the Formula 1 Youtube channel are the best example of this. I did read the VyprVPN blog post regarding Blocked Youtube videos, however, this issue is the opposite. These videos are “unavailable” if the VPN is active.

If VyprVPN is deactivated, I am able to watch their videos without any issues. But, if I connect to VyprVPN (using the same host country that I am located in), the video is unavailable. Disconnect VyprVPN, refresh video page, video works again, no issues. This happens on any iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and Android.

I have come across videos as described in the blog post, but rarely and changing connection geo fixes the issue no problem. But this issue is annoying and am, wondering if anyone else is having the same/similar issue?

Hey, sorry for the trouble with that. Unfortunately we can’t guarantee that every streaming provider (in this case F1’s Youtube channel) will be available through VyprVPN.

Many providers block access from VPN users. On this support page, you can see which services we keep available for customers while connected to VyprVPN - https://support.vyprvpn.com/hc/articles/360038080691

This might not be what you’re looking for, but live F1 content should be available on ORF1 while connected to Germany.
