My YouTube premium membership cancelled since today as I reside in the uk and been having my subscription running abroad for 64.99 a month
I did not manage managed to restart the membership because every time I would update the payment method or put my payment method down it would say it needs a bank account or payment required in Egypt and I have tried doing it with some family living here in Egypt but their banks declined and I’m not sure why maybe it’s their bank but I also done it with my banks and Revolut and it also didn’t work and said it needs a payment method required in Egypt so what can I do to get my YouTube premium back up and running?
What bank should I use?
I got the same email back in November I think then the last payment went through in December and they cut me off beginning of January. I was on the Ukraine account for about 9 months. After about a week I logged into my Android YouTube app without a VPN and instead of the regular price in CAD I got offered to renew my Ukraine subscription in Ukraine currency. So I went through the process and renewed it no problem. Working for now. Not sure how long this will last though.
Your payment profile and your payment method needs to match also you need to use a residential Proxy becouse a VPN is usually detected and it doesnt work anymore
I was the same, had YT Indian family plan for 4 years, email received about cutting off in Nov, finally cut off on 2/01/25. I then logged in via VPN to Poland and was offered the family plan for around £9, renewed there absolutely fine. Not sure how long it’ll last but went through no problems using a new disposable virtual card on Revolut
The same goes for me. It worked with Turkey registration for several years. Google got some cash for this, and now it will reach zero. I am just using Brave browser (that blocks ads) and a Smart Tube app on my TV. I have no intention of paying 20 euros for the Family plan.
Ran into the same issue in SA.
And the banks won’t let you purchase a membership online.
Kept running into the same error. So eventually we just caved and used our old US account that had room on it to buy the family plan.
From what I can see, any of the cheap countries (Ukraine, India, Argentina etc), come up as ‘Can’t verify country’ when using a VPN.
Go anything around the £9-10 mark (Poland, Japan, France etc), it will allow you to see the plans and prices.
I think Google have put extra checks on those low cost countries knowing what people are doing.
Addition I did manage to successfully subscribe on a monthly family plan from Japan with a Sterling Card for £11.50, using a VPN and a random Japanese Zip code for verification’.
I did try PayPal before using my Starling Card, but it comes up a region error when confirming payment on the PayPal account.
They did have an individual annual plan for £68 if anyone is interested.
think theyve patched it pretty thoroughly so I got my serbian friend to make a legit bank account, so the billing address matches. it’s not the best in terms of price but still better than normal rate
Been using a Turkish based account in US, without any VPN whatsoever, for like 2 years now.
As we all know, it is not where you connect from; only thing that matters is you have to use a payment method issued in the country linked to the account. Thanks to my Turkish credit card, I haven’t had any issues so far.
