Anyone having issues with their ISP and Seren? (US Spectrum)

For the last week I would have Seren play and shuffle through episodes of my favorite series when I sleep but this time it would stop in my sleep.

Then the next night it wouldn’t even open anything, it will load the source we select then not play, no error or anything.

I then installed a VPN from Cloudflare 1.1.1.1 with WARP and it worked flawlessly.

Is anyone else experiencing this??

I feel like my ISP has been monitoring our data now and was blocking access to those download links that RealDebrid and AllDebrid generate.

Want to confirm if this is the case and if anyone else has experienced this or can confirm my theory.

Spectrum is one of the worst isps for blocking and throttling iptv. I’ve never heard of them blocking real-debrid links tho. That’s one of the reasons to use real-debrid is to hide your activity.

This is one thing you can try:

install and open “myspectrum app”

Security Shield is enabled by default on your Advanced Home WiFi service. However, you can turn off and turn on this feature as you wish:

  1. Go to the Services & Equipment tab, and select Security Shield.

  2. Then switch the Security Shield toggle on or off as desired.

  3. Confirm decision.

I just got this problem too! I also have Spectrum and it started working again with a VPN. I guess spectrum got us lol. The only worry I have now is that when I log in to my AllDebrid account with my VPN on it says “error no dedicated servers allowed” so it scares me cuz I dont wanna get banned or anything. Have you seen that too?

I also feel that my American ISP Cox Communications is blocking all Real Debrid cached streaming from any source that I try to use without a VPN from my 2nd generation Amazon Fire TV Cube except for Stremio.

FilmPlus, CinemaHD, Kodi (Seren, FEN Lite, FEN, Umbrella, The Crew, Asgard, etc.) All sources work fine though when my VPN is on.

Stremio is the only way I can watch Real Debrid content on my Fire TV Cube WITHOUT using a VPN.

Another thing you could try is changing your DNS servers if you’re using your ISP provided one they might only be blocking it there … If you’re lucky all you have to do is switch to Google’s or cloudflares and if that works then you don’t need a VPN.

I have xfinity. All my alldebrid links stopped working last week. Just installed a VPN. Everything working again.

you’re telling me the first thing you thought of was to check with a VPN, on an addon that hasn’t been updated in 2 years. Did you not stop to think it might be an addon and literally not pick one of the addons that get’s mentioned here 6 times a day. Baka!

Yeah this is always everyone’s answer when I complain about Spectrum even though I disabled Security Shield the very moment the Spectrum installer said “Hey im done, have a nice day!” and walked out of my front door

Holy fuck. It’s happening to me now too. I no longer use Kodi but have Alldebrid set up with Stremio and, as of 2 days ago, it will no longer stream video files via my Alldebrid. I tested it by trying to stream a movie on my phone normally and it kept shooting back a network error. So I disabled WiFi and tried again just using my cellular data and it worked easy peasy.

I also use Alldebrid for their premium file bypass downloader feature. It removes slow download restrictions people who upload pirated media online put behind a paywall. I mean why the eff would you pay for something they stole lol

Same here with COX. Nothing works unless on VPN

Yes i have that’s what led me to install a VPN.

That made it work for me which I find strange.

So you’re telling me you did not read my post where I mentioned that it wasn’t working prior to me adding the VPN and now it works with the VPN on?

Damn so Spectrum aint the way to go in the future is what Im hearing? I also hope its only Spectrum that does this cuz I recommended this form of streaming movies (with AllDebrid) to someone and they have a different ISP so I dont want to get them paranoid about them getting blocked too. You know what bothers me too? All the people saying “Oh you dont need a VPN when you use AllDebrid” or “Its safe without a VPN, they cant see what youre doing”. Even the damn AllDebrid FAQ says “A VPN is totally useless with our service.” Well obviously it isnt cuz my ISP noticed :neutral_face:.

Correct that’s what I belive is the case too just seeing if anyone else has noticed that too.

I tried with other add-ons too and it wasn’t working on my network.

Yeah. That dudes comment are pretty much what you get here. You clearly explained the VPN was something that came after you starting experiencing the problem yet his advice was turning off the VPN lol

Anyways. You’re unfortunately a member of the group Spectrum just unknowingly created of pissed off illegal streaming customers lol

Cuz they got me too. I use my Alldebrid set up with Stremio and as of 2 days ago no streams will work and even when I try using the downloader feature from Alldebrid I get a network error. Yet once I disable my WiFi and try again it works easy peasy. I’ve yet to find a solution but this is the first I’ve seen others experiencing the same thing online
