Edit: Apparently they are not friendly to quite a few things. Like China, sending email, SSH and IRC.
TunnelBear has been around for a while. They are okay, but no one raves about them. I mean, for $4.99 its worth a try. Give em a try, and leave a review here. If not, you can always try another provider.
Its a free service I wouldn’t Trust them
If you want privacy, I don’t recommend using a free VPN.
Additionally, you want a VPN service that doesn't keep logs/records, here's a list of some:

unfortunetly tunnelbear has been really flakey for me. On my windows machines I get dns leaks and really slow speeds. On my mac machines I get less dns leaks and about 50% of my regular speed. on my ios devices I get dropped connections all the time and mediocre speeds…
I always get connected by their server algorithim to like the furthest place away from me instead of close which obviously hurts my speeds as well.
its to bad because I like the idea of tunnelbear and its ease of use but
cant recommend them and will have to try a different service
