Are all VPN services paid?

Can you recommend one?

I need a good one for my mac, thanks.

The good ones are. Depends on what you wanna use it for. For general VPN needs: Mullvad. For remote connections: TailScale. For torrents: AirVPN.

Many times, when something’s free it means that you are the product.

It would help to know what you need the VPN for. iCloud private relay acts as a VPN for your browsing through Safari for example and is built in to the OS (though you do need a subscription to activate it).

If they aren’t it’s a huge red flag :triangular_flag:

There are free ones but you definitely get what you pay for here. I’d recommend Windscribe. You can google for a the cheap 3 year plan. It used to be available for even current customers but now is only for new users. Great deal and then top up with their Black Friday deal once a year for like $27/yr.

People always want free but then want all features. VPNs are so cheap. Just a few bucks a month

I’m confused about what you are looking for exactly? Do you want a free one, or do you want the best paid one?

In short, Proton VPN is free, but it’s by no means better than the paid ones. I use this because it has the most basic functionality, which is what I need.

As for paid ones, Express VPN is great, my girlfriend uses it, and she never had issues.

Brave includes a vpn with the browser, but I haven’t tried it personally

UrbanVPN is pretty good

PIA (Private Internet Access) and Nord are two big ones.

Came here to reinforce this…. They’re making $ somehow of its free. If you’re inclined to use a vpn, you don’t want to risk a free VPN.

This is almost always true and is utterly lost on my wife :grimacing:

I think you mean if they ARE, it’s a huge red flag.

I just wondering because all I had downloaded were paid. But thank u I will try Proton VNP.

Yeap! But I think it isn’t free

Nope. If they are not paid services, they’re stealing your data or worse.

We both mean the same thing, you just said it backwards. Free == bad.
