Avoid China-owned VPNs

Avoid China-owned VPNs

Deleted VPN Procy Master

Hey … Is turbovpn Chinese?

Almost all VPNs suck in one way or the other.

Here are the best,
1)ExpressVpn
2)ProtonVpn
3)Nord
4)Mullvad

This list was made taking consideration location of the company, no log policy, and their tech stack.
I can elaborate for each one why if you want me to.

We can find the apka being developed by many developers outside china, but the thing is these VPN tunnels are running through Chinese servers.

Deleted Betternet. Shoulda known it was Chinese with that smarmy icon…

I’ve switched to Windscribe for a while now, it gives me 10gb per month for free and I must say I’m loving it. Previously, I used ProtonVPN but the speed was shitty even though the data was unlimited.

Why no one uses orbot?, its based on TOR networking with VPN mode and bridges. Its also a FOSS.

Surfshark should be good. It’s the sponsor of China Uncensored.

It is

Can you tell me why would you rank express first please?

I use express, I love it. It’s easy to use, doesn’t completely kill your speeds… Great product.

$5 / month self-hosted Wireguard server. Probably can do $2.50 / month with Vultr VPS.

That’s not how it works. Rather data logs are accumulated at the connected server which contains connection logs, websites, data used and timestamps and are then shared with 3rd party AD networks(this could be a facade at times) in China.

It’s not a tunnel per se, but yeah ends up in China

Highly dependent on the use case, if you want to be the closest thing to untraceable, and access onion links, yeah Tor ofc. But that’s 7 layers of proxies, most sites are barely inaccessible on it as Tor is designed for accessing the darkweb which comprises of extremely lightweight pages.

It isn’t built for video streaming or accessing the hub, and most websites break on Tor as it actively blocks JavaScript for anonymity.

Orbot for android is good for using tor networks.

Tor is something really very heavy, I don’t recommend it for normal users who are not on a big serious mission, and just want to hide their IP address.

Tor is like military grade protection, ofcourse, you don’t need it for daily life activities.

Just look for any good paid VPN.

Windscribe is great if u just quickly need to surf a website geo-blocked in the region, but for anything other than that like streaming or downloading it’s sluggish most of the time. And their 10 gb free offer seems dubious.

Imagine your 7 year old brother says that he will beat the shit out of you, would you wear a military grade armour and shield for protection? No.

Same here, most of us just want to unlock websites blocked in our region or just create some fake accounts on a website. A good VPn is enough for that.

Tor is heavy and meant to heavy security.

I’m conflicted on Nord too, but,

  1. Privacy isn’t an issue, as it’s based out of Panama, so it won’t have to comply with most government requests. It’s audited, and claims to not have connection logs

  2. Connection stability is great, speeds are okay, not the greatest (~30-40% drop). Good UI and apps

Sucks cuz,

  1. No streaming even though they claim it does. Very rarely I had a working server for streaming.

  2. Support is…meh. Good on some days, shit on others
