I’m using iPhone and IPad and both of it connected with my FrootVPN as of now I don’t have any issue with it up to now.
You mean VPN service or VPN app?
If you’re looking for a VPN app (which I got from the “that doesn’t drop connection when on lock screen”), Viscosity is really good
Edit: care to explain the downvote?
Opera vpn. It’s free and fast.
I use NordVPN. I got 2 years for $69 and it’s beed really good so far: The best VPN service for speed and security in 2025 | NordVPN (get me some referrals)
(use code 2YSpecial2017 for 72% off)
express vpn is the best!
you can it for 1 Year only for $15:

You had any luck using FaceTime thru PIA? I was with them for a while and couldn’t get this to work.
I’m aware This is 5ys old but thought I’d say it……protonVPN free plan for the vpn is actually quite impressive for free and they do have options for better plans but you gotta pay
Thumbs up for this. Have been using ExpressVPN for years. Great speed and stability. Not cheap, but worth it.
This. Cloak has very reasonable pricing plans. I love that you can buy a one week pass, makes it very affordable to stream US-only content. Cloak is soon to be know as encrypt.me btw.
I have a newbie question regarding Cloak. I checked their site and they appear to claim their service is for use on unsecured/public wifi. Does this mean it is not recommended to use on my home wifi? Like, if I tell Cloak my home wifi is a trusted network, then it won’t establish a vpn connection?
I ask because I’m currently looking at vpn services and while theirs seems pretty good, I want a vpn service to use at home as well.
I wish that OpenVPN Connect app was half as polished as the Cloak app though. Cloak does all that plus makes it easy to say “don’t connect if I’m on the following Wi-Fi networks…” so you don’t have to manually disable it when you get home. The app is what keeps me on Cloak instead of switching to a self-hosted solution.
Agreed. I set up my own VPN on digital ocean and use OpenVPN to access.
Came here to say windscribe. Good scores from that one privacy guy’s site, speeds are great. Got a lifetime deal for $40 through stack social which is almost what I paid for one year for PIA. Love windscribe!
You can use OpenVPN right now though
and they recently had a 3rd party audit
I use it and it works perfectly but I wish it had a Mac app too.
I second this. Too many server and location around the world. Beside it works well if you have desktop iMac or even windows.
Don’t use free VPN services. VPN providers are able to monitor all your traffic, free VPN providers almost always use that data and frequently sell that data.
I’ll second that. I know some folks who work at Golden Frog and they work hard on their products.
Best balance of very fast speeds and reasonable pricing for my money.
