thank you for the reply. you seem really competent so im going to shoot my shot. I want to hide the fact that im using vpn, make it seem like organic connection, as if im a resident of that country. I tried obfuscation methods like openvpn, from popular vpn brands. But websites like whatismyip were able to detect that it was vpn in just seconds. Do you have any solutions or ideas? appreciate you a lot.
OP might be missing some important details
this. basically, we don’t know what OP is currently dealing with. We were wrong all this time for assuming that OP is using a browser and visiting a site, rather than accessing an company mobile apps.
An app would have more potential ways to detect if you are running a VPN client
as OP said, what OP wants is not available in OP’s country. You don’t need to go that far tbh, the app probably checked various things to locate the user, for example: wifi triangulation, sim card ICCID check, or simply a geolocation service, while some of them can be spoofed, it’s still effective to gather that information.
sorry for a late reply, and yes indeed i do only have very basic knowledge about VPNs and similar stuff.
what im trying to access is tapjoy, so its a website however they do get info from your google account aswell. but since ive tried making a new google account, resetting advertising ids etc im still certain its the vpns ive tried that they detect
then in case of knowledge and awareness of fake billing addresses for a digital purchase, OP’s problem would had been solved without a topic on reddit, right?
True that we don’t know, OP may still be trying to access a website via mobile as well. Too little details to say. Since this is r/VPN I try and keep it relevant to VPNs.
And an app _could_ have a lot more was to detect a VPN, but what you are talking about isn’t VPN detection and would also require an app have location or network permissions, like I had written before, and is a whole different set of hoops to jump through. Maybe these post should have a r/circumvention sub to go to. haha
Tapjoy the mobile game advertising network? They have a website just for being advertised to? I can’t help much there, I spend a considerable amount of time and energy to avoid as much advertising as possible.
Your certainty may be misplaced though, if it links to your google account (for one it’s probably more of a web app than website) it could be using an even deeper level of tracking. There is a lot to try, but a lot to learn as well. Good luck…
No, they would still have the problem of the website blocking them based on their real IP address and also blocking them based on their use of a commercial VPN provider.
