I am trying to setup a VPN service on this router. Is this something that can be accomplished? If so, any ideas how?
Currently, any VPN you want to use will either need to be setup on your individual connected devices, or by using a compatible 3rd party router that will allow you to setup your VPN.
The 5500xk (and the 6500xk, if that’s what you have) are not routers. They are a modem and ONT combo. Whatever equipment you have after it, whether it’s the 360 WiFi pods from Quantum, or a third party router, would be your actual router.

Ehhh depending on how you set them up, theres nothing that explicitly states you have to turn the 5500XK into bridge mode and use the wifi360 routing functionality, and indeed thats not how it was setup when it was installed at my place.
Otherwise, the C5500XK definitely *can* route, and by default does provide an internal lan on 192.168.0.x.
Its just not a very featureful router. The firmware for routing also seems to have bugs, unfinished statistics functionality in the UI, and broken ipv6 6RD
