Hey, is it just me, or is pornhub inaccessible in PA right now. I went on and got hit with a message that due to our representatives in Virginia, we have blocked access. I’m in Allentown, PA and have no VPN on so I’m confused. (Unless I’m on a Virginia server for some reason)
Your internet provider probably assigns you a dynamic ip address, they can make geolocation less accurate

I’m speaking in generalities here as this isn’t my specialty, but I work in another area of telecom. If your ISP has gateways in a Virginia data center, you can have that problem.
As an example - Your ISP might have multiple gateways located in different areas, if the primary one experiences an outage, traffic can be re-routed to another location.
If you spill over to VA, the IP gets geolocated to VA and then no access for you.
Internet providers are ‘regional’ not separated by state lines. I saw this problem coming a mile away. The fact that it’s “spilling over” to other states should hopefully make for an exciting legal case in the future: laws of one state infringing on the rights of citizens of OTHER states.

If you’re on an iPhone / Mac it might be the private relay. Try using a chrome browser or turning of private relay in your iCloud settings.

Yea, sounds like you were routed to a server in VA, it happens sometimes with isps and I don’t really know why.
Just search how to select your server from your provider and you should be able to get to Philly, or NY or wherever they are running out of

For science, I checked and it was working. All the searches too were there as well, but that wasn’t me, this was the first time I’ve ever been to this site.
Thankfully Pennsylvania has not joined the list of puritan states pushing this crap. I suspect the commenter mentioning dynamic ip is the issue since Virginia is a major datacenter. But stay vigilant, Ohio recently tried but failed to push that crap. It’s creaping up to the northeast while the SC decides on the Texas case and there are puritans in both parties willing to push this.
