Having a hard time making nordvpn work for Ubuntu

Hey, after some hours lost debugging the install script, I finally have the nordvpn app on my Ubuntu 22.04

But know I can’t login.

I tried with other browser, I’m not sure what is the problem.

But the callback method should be the default method, is it quit hidden imo, I don’t understand why.

Solution is:

sudo nordvpn login --callback “nordvpn://login?action=login&exchange_token=NWJkZDYWMzUxZjU1ZDQyNzQwZjU5OWVhM2JkZGYxOTY2YjAzZGFiOGQwMTFkMjRlN2QwMMwYTg2NQ%3D%3D&status=done”

You get this link after browsing the link nordvpn gave you after

sudo nordvpn login

“Continue in the browser: https://napps-1.com/v1/users/oauth/login-redirect?attempt=cc19c6d4-0c1c-4138-9681-974056b489d”

Then login on any browser on any pc / mobile with this link.

Copy the link behind the “continue” button.

It should be something like this: nordvpn://login?action=login&exchange_token=NWJkZDYWMzUxZjU1ZDQyNzQwZjU5OWVhM2JkZGYxOTY2YjAzZGFiOGQwMTFkMjRlN2QwMMwYTg2NQ%3D%3D&status=done

Then go back to terminal and type:sudo nordvpn login --callback “nordvpn://login?action=login&exchange_token=NWJkZDYWMzUxZjU1ZDQyNzQwZjU5OWVhM2JkZGYxOTY2YjAzZGFiOGQwMTFkMjRlN2QwMMwYTg2NQ%3D%3D&status=done”

I’m kinda new to Ubuntu and Nordvpn :D.I’ll try what you said.

But looks like the problem is around this “xdg” thing that can’t run this command: nordvpn::**********to return the token to nordvpn.

Edit: tried “nordvpn login --legacy” this is not working because of 2 step auth I guess.

If i can’t find a solution I guess I will remove it.

Btw, I have a vnc on my server, but without it how should I open those links ?

Edit2: ok that’s what you mean by headless, I did not see this note, trying it.

Sudo is required at least for me, maybe I did something wrong.

I already changed those tokens don’t worry it’s not the real one.

It looks like everything is working and that I’m totally hidden.

You ARE NOT totally hidden on a VPN that being said to the average tracker/hacker you are.

I guess I just need to reboot for the usergroup to update but I’m too lazy.

Ty for the tip, I’m gonna watch this, I’m already using qbittorent, so it’s perfect.
