HBO MAX (outside US) on Fire TV Stick

hey everyone, i spent about three hours trying to figure this out last night and got it working!

i trial and errored different things but i’m not sure which ones contributed to the app working. but the gist of this is this:

  1. enable developer options on firestick

  2. download the Downloader app and allow the downloader app to install applications

  3. disable all automatic app updates on the firestick (Applications > App Store)

  4. open Downloader > Browser > https:// tiny url .com/uvvvv … this downloads and installs the fire tv hbo max version 53.20.0 (https://xdaforums.com/t/does-hbo-max-still-work-on-fire-tv-stick.4586051/post-88538779 - source)

  5. launch the app, it will have the Max logo but that’s fine

  6. skip the update prompt

the by the way things i tried and left as is:

  1. changed my amazon account location from the US to another country

  2. removed the max app from my amazon account

i hope this helps anyone stressing out with not having the HBOMAX app outside of the US

Put back the us address in Amazon.com, device, contents. Download the Amazon max from the store and change de address to your current country. What’s the hussle?

You might need vpn to be able to use it after.

Or open play.hbo.com which isn’t Max on laptop with VPN to another country, and I run connection to tv.

As OP tho now they are requesting to download max and its just not allowing me to login
