Recently I got NordVPN and a Firestick to stream content from France (I’m for the USA) One of the services I use is Canal+ (I paid for a subscription) with the idea of watching Ligue 1 matches in French.
So for the most part it’s been a great success, I can stream all of the on demand content and if I’m on my desktop or phone, I can even watch content live !
But for maximal frustration, when using the web browser and the myCANAL app, the play live option will not work and the message displayed is something like, “this content is not available in your country.” But I’m confused because this isn’t a problem using the same acts to view the same content if it’s not live.
Does anyone have experience with watching live shows on myCANAL with a VPN. I’d be glad for any tips.
Don’t have any experience with myCANAL, but from what I understand, live TV streaming usually uses more factors to determine your location, such as GPS location, so only the VPN connection would not help. Not sure if it applies for TV devices as well, but there are some other streaming services, where on-demand content works flawlessly with a VPN, while live TV doesn’t.
