Aight, so it’s story time, folks. I’ve been grounded for the past four months, with all devices taken away with the exception of the school chromebook. It’s gonna be this way for a while, so I decided to tinker around with some shit and figure out how to unblock… you guessed it… ANYTHING… Proxies and VPNs were blocked, and I was just about to give up until I found the holy grail of internet fuckery. Here’s the trick, in case you want to give it a shot:
1.) First, you open up the Zoom extension. Most schools will have already installed this extension, but the key is that it cannot be the web version.
2.) Then, you click “sign in with Google” and of course sign out of any existing accounts. Select the “use another account” and here will be a “create account” option, but at this point, you click “sign in instead”, and that will bring you back to something similar looking to the first page.
3.) Now, you click “use another account” a second time, but this time you will click on the new letters “learn more”, which will bring you to a Google help page that is still on the extension.
Note: Make sure you turn off syncing before doing the next steps. You can do this by going into settings and clicking on your profile, then turning off syncing for all apps. You can also disable some data storage here, making it harder for the school to follow your activity. (ie. turning off autocomplete and search recommendations)
4.) Anyways, now that you’re on the Google help page, go to “terms of service” and scroll all the way down, and in the lefthand corner, there will be a tiny button that says “Google”. Click this, and it is essentially a mini Google tab that will bypass any school blocks. The best part is, it doesn’t store your history on here, so you’re essentially browsing as a guest.
It bypasses anything if you get my drift, so have fun, and don’t be stupid.
