I’ve been trying to watch Hulu on my laptop but an error message keeps popping up sayin that Hulu is not available in my region. I live in the US and its worked for years up until a few days ago. Hulu works just fine on my phone but not my laptop. I do not have any VPNs on my laptop. If anyone has a solution, it would be greatly appreciated.

Update: Hulu has stopped working on my phone now
It has something to do with your IP address. A few months ago out of the blue I didn’t get my local news stations anymore on my Hulu + Live TV. I had to call Hulu and give them my IP address. They reset everything and I got my local stations back.
Since this post was a top result when I googled for this error, I came to add my experience. When you call customer support, make it clear this is a known issue until they elevate it to higher support. Don’t spend an hour like I did, with the rep insisting I had a VPN, and me insisting no I don’t, asking me to try everything I’d already tried. I was also chatting with my isp at the same time, confirming there is no VPN and him brainstorming on what could be wrong. Finally the rep went to higher support who immediately confirmed it’s a known issue. After another half hour of back and forth (they don’t actually transfer you to the person who knows how to fix it), they got it working again, on their end. Nothing wrong on my end.
The rep said this was her first time with this issue. Wouldn’t you think the first thing they check would be if it’s a known issue?! It would save alot of time and frustration if they used common sense. Good luck out there! 
for anyone needing a quick fix (you want to watch something NOW) if you have disney plus bundled i was able to watch hulu shows on the disney plus app
How do you know if you have a VPN? I don’t know about any of this stuff
I had this same problem out of the blue last night hulu and disney were working perfectly fine now all of sudden literally overnight its saying hulu and disney arent avaible in my region but netflix and my othere apps are fine on the tv
Also can’t hurt to try rebooting your ISP’s modem/router/gateway too

Trust me you’d know if you had one. Essentially a VPN hides your activity from anyone else potentially looking to mine and sell your information. Often times, it’s used to change your “location” so you can access content that’s locked into other regions. But if you don’t pay for this service, you don’t have it.
This happened to me too. I can’t figure out what the issue is.
