Same problem here… don’t have a proxy set up, have refreshed my modem and restarted (even factory restored) my router, and still no luck. Can’t get a response from Hulu. I’m also using the Spotify for students deal which covers the Hulu with commercials plan, maybe that has something to do with it.
Maybe your carrier is using CGN?
Get in touch with Hulu support and have them whitelist your IP. It should work immediately.
I’m having the same problem! Thought maybe in was because I live on a college campus. Then the web app said it wouldn’t work because of my location (I’m in the US…?) Honestly I got this service for free with Spotify and as much as I’m loving handmaiden’s tale, this service is a big shitshow.
Same problem, and I’m NOT using any sort of proxy. I went to eth0.me from the TV’s browser and it shows my Comcast IP. Restarting the modem didn’t help.
Having this issue - I literally just watched an episode of a show, and went to the next one. I’m getting this error. I don’t get it - I use ROKU all the time.

I am having same issue.
Solution: I had the same issue getting the anonymous proxy error even though I’m not. I called the Hulu customer service line (877) 824-4858 and provided them with my account information, address and IP address of my router and they unblocked it. Only took about 20 minutes with hold times. Just make sure you come prepared with your IP.
