Is Dashlane still good

As a legacy user that has lifetime free sync… yes it’s worth it lol

free version is literally the worst out of any other password manager.

I’m moving out, and moved mine to Bitwarden. There are so many good alternatives to Dashlane that are free or that you can pay a monthly subs on.
I’m not sure what Dashlane’s playing at they seèm to be actively trying to dump users with this ploy.

It used to be. I would’ve had no hesitations recommending Dashlane to my family and friends in the past few years. But with the sudden and steep price increases this year and lackluster communication to users, I’m exporting all my data and making the move while I can.

I was shocked to receive Apple’s subscription renewal email that my subscription is increasing from $29.98 to $89.98. I had no heads up or proper communications explaining the rationale from Dashlane prior to this shocking email. When I searched Dashlane’s website, the pricing page still reflected the low prices for US customers.

I honestly feel that there are comparable password managers in the market offering a fraction of Dashlane’s new pricing. Their handling of this price increase makes me believe that they don’t care about users, and it is a huge turn off too.

no they are money hungry grubs that amke a worse product and are locking it away from customers who would pay if there was a monthly option just use any other service they wont screw you like children mad at their parents.

I love it and I’ve been recommending it to everyone for years but today I got a notification that the yearly subscription was going up from 32€ to 53€/year and that’s not ok. I used to have the ‘not premium’ account but now the only thing available is premium and I’m not interested in these features if it means a massive price increase. Even getting the Family account (80€/year) for my husband and I is a bummer.

They sent me a promo this morning for 55% off, bringing a year of premium down to $27. I bought this because it was better than the $60 they initially wanted me to pay. Hopefully everyone else gets offered that promo.

Ok so if I download dashlane will I be protected even if I give somebody control over my computer by downloading attended.remotepc.com in my computer?? This company is helping me with a class and need acess to my pc but they told me to download attended.remotepc software so they can take control of my pc. I am not saying theybare gonna scam me but you never know. Lol. Or should I just change all my passwords before I give them access??

No, its trash

I have used it for many years - managing passwords on Windows is just *painful* - the chrome extension is slow (yes after deleting then installing again). Why on earth did they discontinue the app? (Yet keep it for Mac I see). I have tried updating compromised accounts today and it has taken an absolute age - after updating passwords the update account box appears then immediately disappears (frequently), then you have to fish out the recent generated password, and then enter your damn password to get it.

The Android app decides to work when it wants and frequently logs me out for no reason now.

NordPass here we come - Dashlane is a dumpster fire. What did you do Dashlane.

Hey there - I suppose that would depend on what your needs are. Dashlane is highly trusted among businesses, but you did list out some things that you’re not happy with.

How’s Dashlane been working for you so far?

My company felt the same way about a year ago, before we switched to another platform. Seems like we got out at the right time.

They’ve just hit me with a 40% rise so they can get lost

Other services certainly are just…better, like straight up.
Especially now theres no reason to even use it as a free user

Do you trust it deeply?

Would you change your mind?

Exactly, no limit on passwords is just perfect

Same. Love Bitwarden.

Not perfect - I wish it was easier to remove duplicates it sometimes saves, for example - but it’s one of the best things on my PC, took David Pogue’s (NYT) recommendation and never regretted it.

This feels like a chat gpt response

Memory leak insane in chrome
