So Xbox cloud isn’t available in my region, and I need to use it to open Fortnite so that I could redeem cosmetics for xbox, would I be banned for using a VPN while using Xcloud?
I’d guess they don’t care if you use a VPN. However a lot of VPN IPs will be blocked due to being previously associated with DDOS attacks etc., so you might run into issues there.
But in any case, using a VPN will presumably introduce latency that would make an FPS unplayable.
It shouldn’t affect Xbox Cloud Gaming but if your account is also associated with a Microsoft Rewards account you may be banned from redeeming points due to VPN use.
just change ur xff header to change region to a supported region, u can find a addon for that in chrome store, no need to shell out for vpn
…no? I’m not sure but they might lock your Microsoft Rewards if they think you’re trying to scam them or sumshit
nahh, you just connect to a VPN for the first time Xcloud load in the menu until the game shows the Play button, then you can close vpn and start play normally using ur bandwidth
Hope it helps cause I’m using this method. It is better connection without vpn
I also access Xcloud through VPN from the beginning. The only disadvantage is the performance due to the higher ping. Maybe you can also try GeforceNow as they are usually available in more countries.
Hey OP!
I am in the same dilemma. Can you please share your experience. If you tried it or not ?? And did you get banned or nah?
I’d appreciate it a lot
Could you please explain more?
I do the same thing, it works no problems
no need to do that, just change ur xff header and xcloud would assign a different server for u
Hello!
If you’re asking about using VPN on Xcloud for redeeming cosmetics only and not playing a game, then using a VPN up until the start screen and turning it off won’t get you banned, as I’ve done it multiple times this way without an issue, just make sure you don’t have your VPN running while in the lobby, because I haven’t tested that out yet.
And if you’re asking to use it for playing a match, then I would highly discourage it, since I’ve known some people who got clipped for doing it.
Hope this solves your problem, and if you want more specific answers then lmk!
It basically informs the destination that the address in the X-Forwarded-For header is the actual source and your computer/IP is just an intermediary.
Thanks for replying.
I am noob at this stuff and I accidentally let the vpn run till I loaded in the lobby.
I didn’t play a match tho
So hoping for the best.
But your answer helped a lot.
As long as you didn’t play a match then you shouldn’t worry! Np!
