Just what it says, I still get video ads and searched videos won’t even load past the ads.
Hope Luna is aware and is figuring something out because YouTube ads are beyond obnoxious.
Same here. I sent Luna a private message about it. In the meantime, I’m using Video Lite- which is a separate app which allows you to sign into your YouTube account and watch without ads. The interface is slightly worse, but it’s a small price to pay to watch ad-free YouTube. You have to disable the VPN before loading it.

Video lite is showing a white screen and will not load YouTube so that’s not working
If only for YouTube, you can try the free BluePlayer app from App Store. The latest version supports background play of the normal YouTube page and there is no ads.
It seems to be random. A couple of weeks ago it broke for my wife, but not me.
I can only find Blueplayer: Video Music Player. Is that the one? Also - does BluePlayer allow you to sign in to your YouTube account? If not, it’s quite useless, and not better than Video Lite.
Yes it allows sign into your yt account. Use the YouTube button in the Settings.
Just tried BluePlayer. Two problems: firstly, I couldn’t work out how to pause/stop the background music from the default playlist. Secondly, even after signing into my YouTube account, I can’t watch videos in full-screen mode. So - thanks, but no thanks. I’ll stick with Video Lite until Luna is fixed, so I can return to the native YouTube app.
To pause/resume, just double tap the middle of the video. For full screen after you log in, there is a small square at the lower right corner of the video if you tap the video. It’s just like the normal YouTube website.
I tried tapping the small square, but got the message that the player doesn’t support full screen. I’ve deleted the app now anyway, but thank you.
Strange on my iPhone the button works. Anyway no problem.
