I use VPN to connect to japan. Recently it stopped working again for the Netflix Japanese library. Sometimes it does work but only for that one episode, I watch. Sometimes I even manage to see the Japanese library but when I try to play something it won’t load.

Same problem. NordVPN worked for a time but not any more. Guess we’ll need to wait and see
Sometimes switching servers can help. But these days it’s really difficult to find any VPNs that stream from Japan
Last week NordVPN was working again for me on the day i tried. Netflix Japan also.
Haven’t tried using it again on the last few days though.
Working perfectly now! I’m in the USA. I’m seeing the full Japanese library, picked #1 Top10 in Japan and #1Top 10 Movie in Japan, and both worked using NordLynx Protocol.
Just killed my Express VPN auto-renewal. $100 saved. 
Pia wasnt working last night either (on my shield). I tried a few servers and shrugged ill admit tho
OMG, you’re right! I just tried 3 Tokyo servers. None worked with Nord!
Just tried the newest VPN I recently subscribed to - WeVPN. Works perfectly right now. Full JP library, including the Top 10 Today lists.
I’m having the same issue. From what I’ve read in the last couple days, it seems that Netflix has deployed some new strategy to counter VPNs
