Norton lifelock email scam

I forwarded to the email address Norton listed for sending spam emails. I will delete it now though.

Can’t we call to mess with them?

I love calling them back. :joy::joy:

I’m at my university laboratory with only access to a shared computer or my iPod. I went to log into my bank app on my iPod but it said it didn’t recognize my ID/password combo. The interface with the app looked different than it usually does (different color background). It may just be an update to the app but I would rather call the bank than use that interface to rest my password until I know what is going on. My cell phone batteries are dead and I can’t call from the university laboratory since it is an international number (I’m a dual citizen so I have an account in another country).

“Renewal” doesn’t necessarily mean you were charged to begin with. A company could offer a subscription that starts with free trial period that converts to a paid subscription after the trial is done and call that “renewal”.

We got the same email. This is prolly a scam

Got one today too. Glad I looked it up, although I knew that email looked fishy. The email address that sent mine was random letters.

My fear was that they would be able to take the money through my Apple account without my permission because I had signed up for the free Norton password manager app.

Read the auto mod it explains it.

Alerting the people they claim to be is always a good thing to do.

Norton never does anything about it- I get one every month or so

Only with a fake identity. If you use your legit email/phone number or anything that can be publicly traced back to you, these people might try to make your life hell just out of spite

Yah, they are clever that way. That’s where those virtual credit card numbers come in handy.

Brr I opened the pdf included in the email inside chrome browser, I hope it didn’t have any malware attached.

Yep, I got this one just today. Sad how many people probably fall for it.

The IRS phishing report email account gets regular forwards from me.

I said something smart to a scammer one time and they called me back 200 times in a row out of spite. Lol

Good stuff. I do try to alert the relevant companies at this end, too.

This forum has been hugely helpful in trying to warn/advise people who’re unsure about things or who’ve checked here after they’ve done x or y.

I find it wholesome that people here are genuinely (not the bottom feeding recovery scammers, obviously) just trying to help people out. I’m sure it’s saved many people from making costly mistakes or missteps or has shown them they’re not alone.

All we can so is try our best to advise others.
