Hi all,
Does anyone know if the 6.0.9 version of Forticlient (or preferably just the vpn if they had it separate) is still available somewhere on the Forticlient website? I’ve heard it still has an option to select VPNs pre-logon in the free version? It just states “6.0” on the website which I would assume is 6.0.10 or higher which from what I’ve read removed that feature. I can make what I need work with forticlient with user connecting AFTER signing in, but it would be nice to allow them to connect pre-signin.
You can choose any version at support.fortinet.com and looking for firmware download. Any FortiGate version includes FSSO and FortiClient.
Yes, you can download the full version that you want follow my instructions. FSSO is for AD integration. Let me know if you need some help.
support.fortinet.com
go to Downloads > Firmware Images
Select Product : FortiClient
Download
OS (Windows / Linux / MacOSX
v6.00 > v6.0 > v6.0.x
Download the FortiClientSetup_6.0.x.xxxx.exe or FortiClientSetup_6.0.x.xxxx_x64.exe as appropriate (or dmg, or rpm, or whatever)
I’ve contacted our governing body that maintains the license/support for our unit to get what we need, thanks for the info!
Is the FSSO the full client? I was issued credentials today and got in; but in the VPN download it seems to only offer the online version - is there an offline download somewhere in the hierarchy?
Ok, right now I’m just feeling a bit like an idiot, 'cause I’m not seeing what I think I should be - here’s the VPN folder within 6.0.8:

When I use that installer, it downloads 6.0.10. The client does have an Enable VPN before logon, but I didn’t see any options on the windows logon to be able to select a VPN to connect to (aside from the FortiSSL which appears to be an ISDN dialup vpn connection?)
Do I need to use FSSO? Can FSSO even be used without an EMS license?
Yeah, I found it several hours ago realizing what I was missing to find the images - have the one I need now and it’s working well… only thing that I notice is it’s kinda hard to get it to disconnect IPSec once it’s connected. I’ve gotta check a timeout on the server as it seemed to maintain the connection even through a reboot
Sorry I answered in the topic, please read there.
FSSO nothing to do with this. Can you logon the remote PC using cached credentials and running VPNSSL client at Start?
I can log in with cached credentials; forticlient shows up as running hidden icons (not connected) at logon. I do not see it in the system startup.
