Does anybody here use Opera One? I can see that some streamers use Opera GX, but I never really like the gamery looks of it. I just stumbled upon Opera One when looking for an alternative for Firefox.
Can Opera One be considered a “safe” browser? I can see the integrated VPN and adblocker can come in very handy.

The adblocker is not that good, i use ublock.
Never used the VPN.
I especially love the workspace feature.
I was looking at chrome but i haven’t figured out if i can sync bookmarks without a google account, probably won’t switch.
As it stands, Opera will remain my primary browser for a very long time.
It is safe. Safety and privacy are different concepts.
Does it private? No.
What does that mean?
Your passwords, history, account info, id, ip won’t gonna leak somewhere or stored somewhere. Opera basically have own tracking methods for ads and profiling.
Probably you have already heard about Chinese investors and mother China internet theory lol.
Local laws are apply locally. China cant ask anyone’s data from anyone who lives outside of china.
Being share owner does not mean the company is your garden and you can do whatever you want.
Opera still operates in Norway and GDPR is applied.
4 . And the bold one. There is no real evidence (legit news, courts, announcements) that data is transfered to China legaly/illegaly. Only youtubers and freaky blog posts keep talking about this. So if you think about its basically an American horror story which includes too much assumptions but no proofs.
So in short. Yes its not that private because Opera has ad business too so basically the browser does what Google Chrome does. Other than that you can call it safe.

If you go through the terms and conditions well you will find quite shady lines. It doesn’t help that it has faced many shady accusations too (of which though, I don’t have much proof).
As a foreigner I find hilarious how north americans are more worried about data being shared with China more than with de US government.

Yes, i disable the default adblocker and the browser’s fast for me, i use the Spaces feature which is just baked in by default no extensions, the only extension i have are ublock origin and bypass paywalls.
Although not required or needed depending on your use case.
I do have an opera account and use it to sync because i use opera on my mac and windows laptop.
If you read any big tech or popular services terms you will get horrified. Because the markets situation is horrible.
I just dont like rote talking about any browser here.

Jesus, Google is a shitshow any way you look at it…it´s bizarre.
It’s an extension that you can use to bypass the paywall (not pay) to read content on a paid site.
It’s not just not Google. Everything is on the internet is data. People really obsesed with ad and targeting here and suggesting the most private browsers here I mean as far as I know librewolf has a unique fingerprint. I would not wanted be the person who uses librewolf alone in the city lol. That would make me targetable.
As I mentioned before (here in another comment) I don’t like rote talking. And folks around here have same precription for every privacy issue. Yet this is not helping either.
