Since yesterday my Outline VPN Windows client has stopped working (error message: Sorry, an unexpected error occurred. Quitting and restarting may help…). I’ve tried re-installing Outline, but still no connection.
I’ve tried to connect on two Windows 11 and one Windows 10 machines to no avail. I’ve also tested this on the Linux app and still doesn’t work.
What is puzzling is that I can connect easily on my Android devices to the same servers, using the same connections/ISPs. So my guess is that it is the Windows client that doesn’t quite work.
Thanks for your suggestion. I did the above, but it didn’t work. I also formatted the computer and reinstalled Windows and still no connection.
I’m 99% certain this issue is not my PC’s, because Outline was disconnected while I was surfing and without me making any changes to the PC itself (no new installations/updates). My guess is that Outline’s Windows client has certain vulnerabilities which have now been blocked by my ISP (based in Iran), whereas the Android version doesn’t.
I don’t have Android but I was having issues on both Windows and iOS. Weirdly enough it worked when I used my cellular data as a hotspot for my Windows laptop. Then Outline connected on my laptop.
