PIA has greyed out all of the united states of america. Now I have to use canada. What is going on?
Did you enable port forwarding in the options?
None of the US servers have port forwarding, no-one knows why.
I saw your post just now, and logged into my pia app and they look good to me. I connected to a US server.
They’re greyed out for me too…using Wireguard. But it does make sense they would be since I’m requesting a forwarded port.
I had that same problem on 2 different iPhone 13’s. Have been using PIA for a few years now and never had problem with it until recently. Everything was going extremely slow on the phones, looked at the VPN and was connected to Canada (I am in the US). All US servers were greyed out. Haven’t had it happen recently, but do have problems with them being much slower than normal. If I turn off the VPN, they are fine. Haven’t touched any settings since I’m not that tech savvy, which is why I chose PIA. Thought I might come here and find others complaining about something similar, but doesn’t seem to be a widespread problem. Using Wireguard.
I’ve never enabled port forwarding either, but found it turned on and everything USA greyed out. I’ve been able to manually select which one I wanted and it would connect though, been doing that for a while. Found this thread, turned off port forwarding and everything is back to normal and it auto-selects a low latency server in the USA again.
This is on a computer FYI, Macbook Pro.

You have requested port forwarding, They do NOT allow port forwarding on USA servers, So if in USA most likely will be routed to Canada, possibly Mexico, and all USA servers will be greyed out…disable the Port Forwarding and you will have access to USA servers, however you will be minus the port forwarding.
I didn’t change anything but port forwarding were somehow on but it still won’t connect through america.
Just happened again. Had setting as “automatic” and it had me connected to Australia
Nope, I turned it off(I never turned it on but it was on, I never change any settings on it), reset everything to factory, reinstalled, still won’t connect.
Does it show a port forward bottom right? Show us a picture. If that isn’t the case then you should open a ticket w PIA. Haven’t had 1 single issue using Linux. Once I disconnect the port forward request it allows me to connect USA servers not a single issue.
