“Popcorn Time” gives users anonymity with a free, built-in VPN

Misleading. The VPN provider they use admits to keeping logs for ‘legal reasons’ – so it’s dubious at best that this is a ‘good thing TM’.

Use a paid /r/VPN or /r/Seedboxes or switch entirely to Private /r/trackers

What would be your recommendation? I currently use PIA. Should I turn off the Popcorn Time VPN and just use PIA, or use both?

As a side note, I am relatively new to using VPN services. So, please be gentle, I’m a newb here.

If you’re already using PIA you have no need for Popcorn Time.

If you are at times using Popcorn Time instead of PIA, stop. You don’t want to use any VPN that takes logs, ever.

As long as you are using the open source Popcorn Time, and a reliable VPN you ought to be fine. Both the closed source Popcorn Time and this VPN provider should be distrusted at best, or considered a honeypot at worst.

IMO, you should stop using Time4Popcorn and use the open source Popcorn Time (link here it used to be get-popcorn.com but they just changed it.) This popcorn time does not have a VPN built in, so obviously use PIA.

As I understand it Time4Popcorn is open source (?) … (time4popcorn (time4popcorn) / Repositories · GitHub)

Click on the lock and disconnect, by default it is not connected to kebrum.

So is the v3.2 on popcorntime.io the open source version?

Yes. It added support for trakt.tv
