So I’ve been using LDPlayer64 for 5-6 months now and had no separate unwanted installs of any malware or programs.
I just installed LDPlayer 4 because x64 isn’t playing nice with some games and I have Reason Safer Web/RAV Endoint Protection and RAV VPN running in the systray immediately after install.
What I don’t appreciate, is after refusing to install the first AVG browser option, I refused the second offer to install MCAfee( yech) and then this crap is running on my PC.
Where does it say anywhere, that this is an optional or automatic install as it did not come up during the confirmation of LDPlayer install?
I immediately ran Revo Uninstaller and removed every trace of it.
Not very pleased on the deceptive install of PUPS or possible keyloggers that I don’t even know of. This should NOT be an option or included with your software, especially when downloading it from your official website.
The issue is that we only ask to install 2 bundle programs and since you have declined to install AVG and Macfee, there is no possibility that we forcibly install RAV Antivirus Set and we are quite confused as well.
The ads plugins in the online installer package are provided by IronSource, which is a global software company aiming at keeping products safe. We’re now checking with IronSource to invest this issue and we will remove the ads plugins if this issue can not be solved.
What you guys can do, luckily, is either remove them within Windows Add Remove and uninstall all 3 of them. They were running in the systray as Reason Safer Web, RAV Endpoint Protection and RAV VPN separately and all found within APPS Add Remove.
Then I would use a disk cleanup tool like CCleaner and do a clean up of the files like Temp, MRU, etc… You can also run Malwarebytes free to check your system drive. I looked through Task Manager and Task Schedular to see if anything was added that is still running or scheduled to trigger from these after I uninstalled and nothing was there, nothing running in Task Manager that I don’t already know of, thankfully.
What I did, is use Revo Uninstaller, which there is a free version and also a portable version that can be run from its own folder or USB drive, whichever you prefer, without having to install it physically. This will access the programs uninstaller then scan the registry and install drive (C as default) for leftover folders and files, which you can safely check off and delete. I then did a search of the system drive for RAV and REASON just to see if anything else was lying around.
If you want a reference to the install logs, you can possibly find it in the following location(s) listed below. This is where I found the install logs for all 3 programs. Make sure in Windows Explorer, you have the checkbox in Hidden Items checked to see the complete path of the install logs: This PC > local disc C > Users> ( your name or PC name folder) > Appdata> Local > Microsoft> CLR_v2.0, or CLR_v2.0_32 or CLR_v4.0 or CLR_v4.0_32, whichever you have.
Open the install log folder and see the text files for these programs. These won’t harm anything but it shows the install at the same time as LDPlayer.
Shameful practice. Really disappointed in LDPlayer.
hey so this happened to me as well and I think its causing all kinds of issues on my pc now. it’s literally a brand new system 3070 ti and 12700kf. everything has been great and after this download all kinds of popups when browsing. I’ve been doing my best to track down the files and unfortunately, they seem hidden. What ones did you end up removing because I’ve only found the McAfee one
i’ got this shitty “RAV ENDPOINT TRASHCAN” silently installed on my pc with LDPLAYER Install. Im very care my PC actually and 300% sure " this trashcan shit comes from your LDplayer setup program and both of them have same instalk date.
Unreal trash - no othe program for my 15+ years with pc make dirty shit like this LDPLAYER.
Uninstall. Will never reccomend this shit to someone. WILL always say this is fkc nshit
I had this same issue with these installed on my laptop when i installed something. My only concern, is that im worried this is a virus…I’m hoping my laptop isn’t effected
Could you please help me I had installed something stupidly and didnt read anything I accepted to download and now i have rav and safer web aswell as mcafee webadvisor.
I got this “safer web” bullsh* when I installed the Exodus crypto wallet. It seems like a lot of trusted and reputable software suddenly comes with “safer web”. I wonder how much that sh*t company is paying people to silently install their adware, or if they found some kind of method to embed their stuff into reputable installers which would be a serious concern
I have been using Nordvpn for 4 years, for gaming, for my business, no problems with speed, many countries, convenient connection, they also have a promotion 3 months free and 68% discount https://go.nordvpn.net/SH5d9 good for gaming
The ads plugins are not the issue. Ads in the game screen is one thing, these installs are a totally different thing.
In this case, AVG and McAfee were offered and rejected but 3 totally unannounced pieces of software installed themselves, along with HTML web page links embedded into the install package. I found those too and removed them. Someone like me knows what to look for and where to find the hidden leftovers and how to remove them but others may not.
The explanation of the bundler is not what the issue is here. It’s the fact that Reason Safer Web,RAV Endpoint Protection and RAV VPN were installed and running right from the get go. On top of that, it was allowed to install because LDPlayer installs with Admin rights, so anything installed within the installer package automatically was done, bypassing Windows Defender to block it or warn me
There was also an icon on LDPlayer 4’s home screen that had disappeared after I cleaned all this crap off my PC, something to the effect of “Beginners Guide” or something like that.
Perhaps your partnership company is playing games but it’s unlikely 5 other people are making this up and commented right after I posted it. They obviously were looking for answers too.
The link for plugin free download, which is a version history by it’s description, is not very helpful as it contains updates but doesn’t specifically state they are plugin free. If I go to the website to download the latest version and use the software, why would I look for some ambiguous page about plugins that I don’t know even exists. If in fact you have plugin free options for offline install, than there should be a download option shown here https://www.ldplayer.net/.
