Split tunneling for specific IP is not working On Windows 11 for free user

I downloaded proton VPN couple of days ago for windows 11. I am having a frustrating time setting it for split tunneling for specific IP. For example, I tried entering www.whatismyip.com [104.21.89.158] in the setting, but still shows my local IP.

The tunnel splitting works fine for application specific [e.g. Firefox or Microsoft edge] but I can’t get it to work for a specific IP.

Please help

thank you

Can you please describe in detail what you are looking for? What are you trying to achieve?

I want when I Visit certain websites [e.g. bank websites] to be tunneled to VPN. Thank you

By the reason redkey8692 described it’s not going to work reliable anyway. www.whatismyip.com in your example uses more than one IP (e.g. 172.67.189.152 is also their IP which you missed in your settings), and many big sites have several IPs.

If that’s what you want your best shot is to switch between two browsers and tunnel one of them to the VPN.

Thanks for the explanation.

In proton, Is there a way to enter a website address rather then having to enter each associated IP address?

thanks

I don’t believe it’s possible in Proton windows app at all. However I believe this feature was implemented in Proton VPN browser extensions BUT in the opposite way - by default all websites go through VPN and you can add website addresses you want to exclude from going to VPN (let’s say they block VPN connections). Try that if it could work for you, and here’s the details: https://protonvpn.com/support/browser-extensions/

thank Snacer. I will give the browser extension a try.
