There are no Internet Browsers that cannot be tracked, or are there?

I checked out CoverYourTracks and evidently I have a unique finger print even though I thought I was doing everything right! My blood pressure shot up so now I’m going to redo some things. There’s always more to learn. Thanks!

Kind of a cheap answer. I think the "how"s and "why"s count for a lot in technical subs. Have a great rest of your day.

DDG is not a browser. It’s a search engine. Not to mention, it’s reputation is rightfully being called into question by privacy advocates at the moment, so it’s no longer a first choice in terms of privacy.

You should probably take a look at the answers to this question in r/privacy instead of making it a rhetorical question. Its a good question, but the need for an answer isn’t exclusive to OP. I’m sure once you find out just how much information is collected on your device and the data points big tech has on you, you will start to feel extremely small and violated like most privacy advocates.

Have a fantastic rest of your day.

They said browser with no trackers, not browser with the most trackers

This is what I was thinking as I was reading this. Are there tools out there that simply generate fake, random data to provide through the browser? I assume there are.

What’s the name of the extension of you don’t mind me asking?

I’d advocate for a mix of spoofed and distributed traffic (using a network of friends) if you’re very concerned about tracking.

If you wanted to hide data from your ISP could you encrypt and then send your data to a raspberry pi on like a McDonald’s network then have that raspberry pi send the data to a different raspberry pi on say a Starbucks network via Bluetooth? I feel like I’m overthinking this but Essentially what this would do is show your ISP that you only ever connect to one other host ever and that host loved to communicate back with you. Then all your actual data would be sent through the Starbucks network which has almost no connection to you.

And then you hear “Nothing on one. Two is binding. Click on three. Nothing on four. Back to one.”

I knew it was created by the navy, but was under the impression onion circuits couldn’t be tracked. TIL, cheers.

It’s not a vulnerability per se. It’s giving more datapoints to whatever site you’re visiting.

If you maximize your browser window (no matter what it is) and search something on Google, Google now knows your screen size. Sure it’s not a big privacy issue but it’s just one more datapoint that Google is taking from you.

It provides metadata to the browser and site that make you more unique.

Not saying it is. Just another layer. If you have a VPN from a trusted vendor then it’s better than an ISP.

It’s the reality of the internet. You want privacy then get a pen and paper. Using the internet is like driving a car on a public road. You are in the open for anyone that is looking to see. Only on the internet is isn’t like a road where you just have random cops scattered around every 5 or 10 miles apart; on the internet it is the equivalent of people watching you every 5 or 10 feet. Privacy is a wonderful thing but by the very nature of the internet you aren’t going to get it when you use the net.

Sorry, you’re right. I use the search engine because a browser can delete trackers and cookies all the time but not using Google in the first place is a good habit to reduce your footprint.

DDG has a browser in beta on MacOS only.

Can you expound? Please don’t flame me… I am curious. Thanks.
