I’m planning on working remotely from Central America. (I’m US based working for CA based company). Does anyone know how seamlessly VPN’s work in Guanacaste Costa Rica, Quito, Ecuador, and Lima Peru?
Even if you have info about one of these places it would be helpful! Or just info about VPN blocks or VPN traffic in Central America?
This is great info! My job was trying to scare me when I told them I’d be working remotely from Central America and they said there may be blocks! But it seems from what I’m hearing, things will work out just fine.
Thank you for info on Costa Rica and Ecuador! I’ll do some more research in Lima and Peru.

Both Costa Rica and Ecuador are great places in Latin America for ‘digital nomads’. Ecuador actually is generous with visas for Digital Nomads while in Costa Rica most do the visa-run every three months.
Meaning … to attract digital nomads, you need good internet. Both countries have that.
Yeah sure, no problem. He had trouble specially with Videocalls as he was managing a Start-Up of which he was Co-founder so he did many times Videocalls and it was quite slow, though it also could be the internet of the hotel.
Oh I see! I’ve been messaging every AIr Bnb host to make sure I can get 100mbps upload and 10mbps download! Seems like a strong WiFi set up could support faster VPN access.
Thank you for all your help!
