VPN just for chosen Apps (bypass)

Hi Folks,

I got a question on the configuration possibilities in surfshark.

I can see, that in the preferences there is an option “Bypasser” (under VPN settings). Here you can in- or exclude apps, to use or bypass the surfshark VPN.

So I have chosen an app, that should use surfshark.
My hope now was, that when I open that app, surfshark silently starts in the background and establishes the tunnel, the app is then able to use. That doesn’t seem to be the case unfortunately…

Am I right? Any other chance, to allow chosen apps only to connect to the internet, if the VPN is established. Kind of “killswitch” in vice versa …
If i have to setup the tunnel manually, before using the chosen apps, it’s a pity.

How would you realize it then? Chose the wanted apps under Bypasser, setup surfshark to immediately open up the (favourite) tunnel when opening and then try to make surfshark kind of autostarting on the firetv (however that could be done).

Would be thankfull for any helpfull reply.

I use this feature. Surfshark connects automatically on my fire stick. When I first started using this VPN I had tons of issues accessing Disney +. For me it just didn’t work. Essentially they blocked my account for suspicious activity. I have no reason to access Disney with a VPN so I use the bypass feature to access without it.

Hi! Bypasser and Auto-connect are two separate features. They can work hand-in-hand, but both have to be activated if you wish to only use the routed app in such a way you described.

Unfortunately, automatically starting Surfshark on Android devices when you boot the device up is not technically possible.
