Work vpn won’t work on att fiber

Internet works, vpn won’t connect. VPN works on mobile hotspot and public WiFi connections, but won’t work on my home internet. Disabling ipv6 doesn’t resolve

I had to change my Device IPv4 Address and DHCPv4 Start Address and DHCPv4 End Address to a different subnet in Subnets & DHCP to get my work VPN to work. We aren’t using any kind of special VPN though.

Hi u/NoctisRS, we completely understand your situation. Please allow us to provide the steps!

If you are unable to connect to VPN through AT&T internet, you can try the following :

  • Try to connect with OpenVPN protocol if PPTP protocol is causing problems.
  • Disable the firewall of your primary router (ISP modem).
  • Check your internet connection.
  • Try a different server location.
  • Restart your device.
  • Check your VPN settings and open ports.
  • Disable firewall or antivirus.
  • Reinstall your VPN software.
  • Restart your router by unplugging it for 30 seconds and plugging it back in.
  • Try connecting to a different region.

Hope this helps! Please don’t hesitate to come back if you have any other questions or concerns.

Mine worked for 2 years, some kind of update was pushed by Att that doesn’t play nice with the vpn

Done all of those things, still doesn’t work. My theory is Att is blocking the port for Cisco AnyConnect vpn

I’ve done that. Doesn’t work. Att sent me a new gateway and work sent me a new laptop. Still doesn’t work since last Tuesday.

Couple people stated this worked for them

I have reset the gateway several times and it does nothing

It’s not a fix I can make. Att is blocking a port that prevents Cisco anyconnect from working. Your team has to fix it

It’s a fix your work IT Department can make

Hi u/NoctisRS, We understand how important it is to have a reliable connection. Let’s look into this.

It works on every connection except my home connection. It is a Att issue not a vpn issue

AT&T is not going to open their firewall for you. This is on you and your IT department. If this is not an option for you, buy your own router and put the at&t gateway in pass through mode

Pass thru mode also does not work lol

Then you’re doing something wrong. Get your IT Department involved. It’s a 5 minute fix.

I work remote. My it department is in another state. Again, when the service worked for 2 years and suddenly stops working correctly, that is not my problem.

IT can fix it remotely. The Gateway and your VPN must be reconfigured so they can work together. Your IT department is responsible for this, not AT&T.

We understand you, and glad to assist u/NoctisRS!
