Xbox App PC doesn't work with VPN

I use NordVPN web app works fine, but native App show message region not supported. Does anyone have solution?

It works, but its a bit tricky. Fallow my guide and it shoud work.

  1. Go to Windows Settings>Applications>Startup
  2. Disable all Xbox and Games services.
  3. Reboot your computer
  4. After reboot, no Xbox shoud be open yet. Start your VPN Service. Choose a supported country. (i use Proton VPN with free Netherlands connection)
  5. After you are connected to a supported country, its time to open Xbox app. Now it shoud work. And it will work even if you close your VPN (witch i suggest to do). You can close and reopen Xbox app, it will work for some time without the need to reopen VPN. After some time, the app refresh itself an will not work again. Dont open VPN, because it will not work again. You need to reboot the computer.

Keep in mind, if it show you again unsupported region, you NEED TO REBOOT your computer. For some reason it will not work again even if you force close all Xbox services with Ctrl-Alt-Del>Activity manager menu.

BUT first thing to do is to disable autostartup Xbox app, because when you start that VPN, the Xbox server already see that you are not in a supported country. That is the reason why it didn`t work from the begineing.

HAPPY GAMEING!!! It work very good for the firstly release version!

Thank you Xbox developer team because you didn`t take us all backdoors, and still keep all gamers connected even not all of us are in a supported country. i Know you know, but please keep it like this. Stadia for example need a permanent VPN connection, witch practically ruin any experience.

For me, just signing out and in worked while the VPN was active. Then turned off the VPN and it still stays in supported region even if I close the xbox app and start it again.

Sorry if this is a dumb question but how do you launch Xcloud from the Xbox app? I have the Xbox app from Windows store and I see my Ultimate Gamepass subscription there but it only lets me install games on my PC, it doesn’t let me launch them on Xcloud.

Did not work for me, can’t log in when my VPN is on and it turns off my connection

Anyway to change the resolution im playing on 360p.

xCloud is not available yet for normal Windows 10 version. It’s available to Windows 10 Insiders. If you want to participate, you need to enroll your computer. Go to Settings>updates>insider program.

Try with another VPN software. It should work without any problem.

Be sure the vpn is off befos5start play, in order to eliminate lag introduced by vpn. If still don’t work good, there is nothing you can do, beside change internet provider.

I didn’t have to do that and it’s working for me. I followed the instructions I posted above and it worked.

I think you have to be an Xbox Insider rather than Windows Insider, and use the Xbox Insider Hub app on Windows to opt in.
My PC isn’t enrolled in the Insider program at all (Surface Pro 4, fresh install of Windows from yesterday actually, latest official image from MS) and I could get the beta Xbox app via Windows Update by opting in in the Xbox Insider Hub only

Any suggestions ? That has like a free trial if possible

Probably your windows was already on insiders ring, but you can be in an unsupported county.

Probably that is the way. Happy gameing anyway!

I use ProtonVPN. It’s free and have unlimited traffic. And have the perfect free location. Netherlands, the home of xCloud data center. And they have app for everything, Android, Android TV, iOS, Windows, and routers.

Yeah, that might be why. I do live in a supported country which might help as well.
