Basically YouTube without ads.
Spotify is expensive and only offers one service, YouTube premium gives you ad free YouTube, extra playback options and YouTube Music (which does everything Spotify does).
It’s not as silly as you make out. Especially if you have the home assistants and stuff too.
When you watch as much YouTube as me it’s well worth it! Hours of ads a week avoided. I also use YouTube music over Spotify because it has a bigger library. Background playback is awesome for podcasts and sleep playlists. And then downloads for offline viewing makes it a no brainer
Connecting to a vpn on every device in want to watch yt on, every time, is to much of a faff
Booting up a vpn on every device I want to watch YouTube on every time is to much of a faff. I already have the account - that’s not the issue. It’s features aren’t available unless you’re on a vpn
I didn’t realise that was a thing to be honest. The main one for me was getting rid of the ads.
To add to that, I used Malaysian VPN for the subscription purchase (£3 p/m) and then keep my VPN connected to Liverpool VPN for access to it (doesn’t affect the internet speed at all).
Look it up, it will sort out you issue completely without the need for vpn. But you need to be a little bit tech savvy to make it work.
As for your first point, I see it to be useless because you get ad free YouTube and a few more playback options with like one or two free browser extensions, as for YouTube music, when you’re poor an advert every 3 or 4 songs really isn’t that bad on Spotify
You only need it to sign up. Once done no longer needed. YouTube app itself background play won’t work. But YouTube music works fine for that though.
