I’ve decided to go with the Amazon Stick 4K Max 16GB – it’s the only budget option that’s worth buying. But I’ve been seeing a lot of people misleading others into buying a useless VPN. Any thoughts on that? ( UK )

Smart tube for YouTube, best to pay a few dollars for a Debrid service to ensure buffer free streaming with a good app such as Stremio

I’ve used most of the apps people are listing and my advice is:

Live TV:

There are loads of providers out there. If your ISP is Sky or Virgin they will do their best to block IPTV (although weirdly only when there is live sports on). BT may do the same but I’ve yet to verify. If your ISP is one of the above then you may need a VPN. Proton offer a completely free VPN with good speeds and no data caps. Otherwise, consider moving ISP to one that won’t block IPTV (we have TalkTalk which don’t seem to care what you do).

App wise I used to use TiviMate but you have to pay for premium wheras IPTVSmarters Pro is now completely free and does automatic EPG refresh (EPG is what lists what programs are on each channel) which is a premium feature in TiviMate.

Movies & TV:

Stremio + Real-Debrid is a good option as you’ll have access to pretty much any show/movie you can think of. Stremio is free but Real-Debrid is a subscription service that’s very cheap for what you get in return. There were some issues late last year where they had French authorities trying to force them to take a harder stance on piracy but this now seems to be resolved (for now, at least).

OnStream is completely free and has a very large library of TV shows and movies. It doesn’t have quite the extensive library that Stremio+RD have but as a free service, it’s fantastic (I actually use it more than Stremio now).

HDO Box is similar to OnStream in terms of content available but again, falls short of Stremio+RD’s offerings. Still a good app that is completely free.

Streamfire/Sportsfire is free and useful if you only plan to watch live sports. There aren’t too many channels on there yet but considering it’s free and in HD, it’s worth getting.

YouTube:

SmartTube is a must. Can log in like normal but it has no ads and Sponsorblock as standard. Highly recommend this app.

These are only the ones I’ve personally used. Troypoint.com is where to go to find more apps.

Having a VPN is necessary if you’re going to watch content from apps like Cinema HD, Stremio, and other free apps. Or if you want to unblock geo-restricted content such as BBC iPlayer, ITVX, and so many other apps that are free but only works with a VPN.

If you can find a cheap fire cube that would be much better. I use ControlD for ads.

the one I have has a 1 time trial month for $3 rather then full price, but other 2 aren’t, I’ve tried a bunch of providers n the best so far I found has the $3 trial, u won’t be disappointed for $3

There are free VPNs out there. Do you NEED them? Not necessarily (depending on what you are doing on your FireTv), but from a security perspective it’s a nice additional layer that - when setup and used properly - can give you some added protection.
Aside from the security aspect, some apps only provide content for your region, and setting up your VPN to make you look like you are in another region could unlock additional content.

There’s no way the UK will go after you for watching content. An ISP that throttles your internet speed is just bad for business. You can kiss them goodbye, but before they even do that, they’ll warn you first. Only then is when you should consider getting a VPN.

You’d only need a VPN to watch region-locked apps, like Hulu, which is only available to Americans. But honestly, I don’t need that crap anyway – iPlayer is much better.

Get a On box 4k pro, here there available in UK, only 50 bucks in USA

No need for a VPN. All you need is:

  • Tivimate + IPTV provider
  • Stremio + Torrentio + Real Debrid
  • SmartTube

I would completely scratch using stremio, stremio is great don’t get me wrong I still use it here n there, but for me I wanted something to mimic my cable ($320 month) n went with an IPTV playlist ($16 mm month), and with tivi mate its amazing! the interface is an exact replica of my cable interface with tons more options! not a fan of having to search all the time for something to watch, to each there own!

Fucking I player you must be fuckin joking

Can you guys recommend some good apps for me? Thanks.

I want like adblocker for youtuber, live tv, movies best one, cracked netlflix if it exist etc

Don’t waste your money on vpn

You don’t need a VPN lol

the bad thing now is that… amazon fire tv stick 4k max quad-core 2.0-2.20Ghz… 16GB storage (2nd gen) being arm64-v8a capable…GPU 850Mhz… (you can’t use those advantages… cause you’re getting stuck with a limitation to now 32 bits applications but why…on now latest update made those changes)… there is an app patcher that is in some sites… called “lucky patcher” but says could be risky… other thing is when just come out was told this model was able to read NTFS USB flash drives with otc adapter… but now they say nope!.. was a lied… now only amazon fire tv cube ultra hd 4k (3rd gen) is the only one can read NTFS USB flash drives with older version believe FireOS v.7.x vs amazon fire tv stick 4k max (3rd gen) FireOS v.8.x. (the point is to use big files on external internal storage you need NTFS…) but now from latest update get buggy… formatting to external internal storage just after finish few seconds of formatting to external internal storage… it starts… automatic pop it up a message again that say… re-reformatting USB flash drive for external storage… anyone have that problem… now only solution is to unplugged amazon fire tv stick after internal external formatting process it’s done… so you keep that first format (external internal storage)… but i believe there are better adapters for that OTG adapters USB v2.0… than later need it to get a USB ports hub with ethernet adapter… anyone know that…?

by the way USA Planet VPN Lite - Turbo Private Proxy v.1.0.1… it’s free & a good option to bypass security restrictions.

https://www.apkmirror.com/?post_type=app_release&searchtype=apk&bundles[]=apkm_bundles&bundles[]=apk_files&s=Planet+VPN

Planet VPN v.7.x-8.x

https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/free-vpn-planet/free-vpn-proxy-by-planet-vpn/free-vpn-proxy-by-planet-vpn-8-0-0-release/

look for the version that better work for you… this latest one got a timer for 6hrs but it’s free… once it ends… just click reconnect got this 5 servers free (France… Germany… Netherland… USA… UK… servers free…)

got little ads when looking to connect but is nothing annoying just click free option…got a 50-60MB/s internet speed = 1080p 2K… average need it to watch… first one not have time limitation.

if get tricky to move around the app use a mini keyboard bluetooth or close on force stop app from applications section on firetvstick settings… until work…not easy to see sometimes where selections go or are but you will figured that out on that gray or light blue color get when moving on every tab around… clear cache app with used time… not data…

Proton VPN is free and in the amazon store…Works well

I have RD and my streams buffer and lag constantly. If I forward a movie my stream has a seizure.

Haven’t use a vpn as in my area and ISP this doesn’t matter anyway. Shouldn’t force vpn to stream better.

You haven’t realized the scam yet. Also your paying to not pay.

This is why i do torrents. Just easier. They are using debrids to be similar to pay streams.

Or is this because they keep changing ip to get around crap file host restrictions for each ip?

Because the files are all on file host anyway similar to what you can access with a PC via a web browser.

Also to hell with xbmc / cody bugs. Not necessarily the program itself. But damn it. It’s entirely gimmicky and you always have to redo everything all the time. It’s more pain in the ass than it’s worth and this hasn’t changed since it was named xbmc. I used it then too.

One thing useful about it to me is i can use nextpvr as backend and my tv tuner and ise kodi as a front end on a fire tv or on android.

So i can watch live over the air broadcast with my old evermedia duel tuner 188c white box that had an inbuilt splitter.

On any other device and control nextpvr and decide what to schedule to record or not from any device. On pc i use nextpvr since media center shut down.

Always records so if i am watching a show and decide to record it half way through then the program doesn’t delete the temporary file in windows and saves it instead and records the rest. So i can record two shows or watch one and record another or watch one i al recording and record the other. A little better than windows media center because all my devices can play this and if i have enough bandwidth i could watch tv somewhere else not connected to my router but that is nextpvr doing that and using an internet facing server i could enable but don’t because i don’t have the bandwidth.

does it make it a huge difference cause can’t lie not tryna spend more money.
