VPNUnlimited is cheap is truly multiplatform and plug and play, via the dailydot store you can purchase a lifetime subscription for quite cheap, also a bunch of device slots equally cheap there. If you want to host your own outlineVPN is pretty good too.
In my opinion, you should check out SlickVpn. Their service is faster, more reliable and efficient than any of the VPNs i’ve tried earlier plus they have an added extra layer of security. You can check them out here: https://www.slickvpn.com
I recommend ibVPN. I’m a longtime customer but always satisfied with their service. They have a 24 hours free trial (no credit card required).
Ppl, besides all tips here what’s your attitude to different sites that offer vpn reviews and comparisons? I, for one, use only tunnelbear and windscribe but sometimes a contextual ad pops up with such proposals. Is it trustworthy?
I’ve been using Proton VPN for at least 3 or 4 mounts and working flawlessly for me
I like VPN Holo. Its support is better than others I used before.
Here’s a List of Top VPN Providers. You can check all the details and specifications of each one of them
one that works! thats why!
Something with OBFS like ShadowSocksR
Something the companies use so cant be blocked like AnyConnect/OpenConnect
There are hundreds of VPNs out there. You can check out the Best VPN Services and choose the VPN that meets your needs.
I just started using VPNs for banking, etc. I’m not sure how good it is, but I tried TunnelBear (free trial) on my mobile device. Speeds don’t seem affected, but I’m a nugget when it comes to vpn knowledge. I’d appreciate a review as I typically value Reddit’s community sourced information. I work as a developer and am newer to security practices, but am completely fascinated and have even secured funding to return to school for a cyber security degree. So I guess there’s that.
Edit to add: i apologize if that post seems like “oversharing”
Run your own. And never trust any VPN provider not to log, if that’s what you are really looking for. That does not exist for all practical purposes.
The ones you build. Because you have control.
Easy one. Just VPN to your own home. A minimalist setup could be build using a raspberry pi. So, very cheap.
Mullvad here for me too. Absolutely love it. Speed is fantastic, though my connection is only 25mbps so idk if it’ll hold up under a faster connection but my speeds drop like 5-7%, not even noticeable. I can torrent as much as I want knowing I’m safe, I can use it on my phone, it’s got lots of payment options for privacy (they accept cash in the mail!), and the account is anonymous!
Add all that up with the super affordable price and I just can’t recommend them enough.
I was gonna go with Nord or something like that but the prices were literally more than I can afford to spend at the moment. Then I found a Mullvad and haven’t looked back.
Really sorry for asking this.
But could you eli5 to me.
I will admit " i am a noob as far as vpn’s are concerned, and never could i trust any vpn that claimed they have zero log policy "
Q - can i work this in my virtual box OS ubuntu ?
This is the way, however I used Algo to set up a VPN instead of OpenVPN.
Not worth it.
- It costs more than buying a monthly VPN
- Less server locations (only one)
- Much more difficult to get set up on your phone or new devices (you manually have to install OpenVPN, transfee your private key files, etc.)
@OP: I highly recommend NordVPN or Private Internet Access. I’ve used 8+ VPN services and those two are by far the best.
It’s a bad idea because your hosting will ban you out after distributing copyrighted things e.g. bittorent download/upload
Have to agree with you on this 100%
I also use Windscribe since they have a build your own plan option. Its cheap and it works great I can even watch american netflix.
