Been doing the ol region swap method , specifically with Turkey but suddenly I’m unable to buy anything using my gift card balance with the reason being it spits out an “incorrect region” error, even while using a VPN (UrbanVPN is what I’ve been using)
I’ve got no payment methods attached to my account atm, my region is set to Turkey in my Microsoft profile and everything else is the same as when it worked
Could it just be a temporary hiccup or maybe I need a new VPN? Google searching brought up those two possibilities but I figured I’d make a post anyway incase anyone knows more or is also dealing with it atm
Buying on console is over as well.

I think Microsoft has closed the ability to purchase from other stores now.
I have a Turkish debit card and I used to buy games from the Turkish site, no VPN needed, and it was fine until today. Now I get a message saying I’m in the incorrect region. Tried again with a VPN but still got the same message, so I think they’ve blocked it at the account level. Shame.
Same error here. What I did was redeem TR gift cards on a PC, then added account to console(console being in Turkey region). Was able to buy the game I wanted with the gift card balance.
Feels bad. In Russia, for some time buying from turkey / argentina was the only way to buy anything. Today I saw many similar reports from online stores which provide reginal purchases for xbox (usually you give them your acc and they buy whatever you need).
same here, it was worked normal last week, and I still can redeem the gift card but cannot buy the game
I think its a bad time to redeem the TRY gift card,its a first time for me and its doesnt work,today i got the same error
Getting the same issue. It was working last week. I can’t even use my account balance.
There is a workaround, for me it helped to delete all the payment methods from my country and buy the game on console with changed region.
Do you know if this only applies to Turkish codes, or also codes from other regions like Argentina, UK, US, India, Egypt etc ?
u/Administrative-Link6 works fine, but microsoft blocked buying on the website, I found a workaround, I just changed the region on console and I bought without problems, I think its the new way to buy!
Once I change my account to the Turkey region on the console, after how long can I change it to the region I had? Or should I leave it forever in Turkey to avoid being banned?
I was gonna make a post about this. I’ve been buying Brazil gift cards to redeem on Xbox Brazil without needing to use a VPN until just now. Suddenly I keep getting that error message too. I changed the region and VPN and nothing works now. And I don’t have a console so thats 300R$ locked for me rn.
Bruh I have 753 Brazil balance and I can’t buy online. I might just buy a used Xbox and then get the vbucks and sell the Xbox for the same price but it’s just long

I had the same thing on my old laptop. I resetted it completely since i didnt use it anymore and it works again. Thats a way. Just did it 15 mins ago
I tried many things and nothing worked (VPN, change region, delete payment methods and try again) but it worked perfectly fine when I tried buying from the Xbox itself.

i create a new argentina account, wrong region is disappeared, but i went to open a package of cod points from the game black ops cold war, it simply did not appear in the game, although it appears in the order history as completed. Do you have any solution?
