I used to use Proton. But Mullvad is 30% faster on the Oklala speed test. Many pages load faster. Latency looks lower. YT runs without stumbling. Very impressive.
I have a 1Gbps leased line - Using a London server from the top if the UK U get 890Mbps both ways. For the price it’s the fastest I have ever used.
I tried Proton for 1 month only, but I concur.
Also, based on my own personal experience 3+ years with PIA and 5+ years with Nord - Mullvad is not only faster than those 2, but I 100% trust Mullvad that they wouldn’t share / sell my data.
My only wish is if Mullvad would allow us to lock ourselves in and save some $$.
looks like some Netherlands servers runs overload ( 50-70% loss in downloading speed , upload remains same )
and yes server speed is consistent,no disconnect
and one best thing about mullvad is they charge exact 5.5 $ no matter in which country you live, and 1 month price is same as 1 year price ( if change into monthly )
i wanted to tried proton vpn ,but their 1 month price is 10$+
and i used google play credit ( i think mullvad support any kind of payment )
A score for top latency. 2Gbit out of 2Gbit ISP speed. Minimal black listing. No special software needed for servers.
Yes.
But.
Mullvad ip’s are black listed here and there. Like Reddit for example doesn’t love Mullvad. So I have both. Use both
I agree Mullvad raw speed is faster. In practice though, it was blocked so much more that proton and actual loading times for me were slower on Mullvad.
I’ve been using it for a few days here in China, and I have to say, it doesn’t do as well as others. It’s great for basic stuff, but the GFW is beating them down.
Yes but does anyone have issues while on whatsapp calls, i get reconnecting quite often.
I love Mullvad, just wish it would support streaming better and it would be my choice. Unfortunately I had to go another route for streaming
The only reason I switched to protonvpn is because they removed port forwarding. And since protonvpn is already included in my proton subscription I didn’t feel like it was worth paying for a whole other subscription.
VPN servers must be better optimized for your network location
Gigabit here in SG. Connections to SG servers are gigabit as well, though the country is like the size of NYC so it’s expected.
What server. I’m on 1Gbps line and max out at 530Mbps
Agree. But 5€ (with crypto ebene cheaper) is dann inexpensive
In Canada the 6 month voucher from Amazon works out to be the best deal. Not sure how it is elsewhere
I also used google play store credit.
Reddit users dislike Mullvad because they don’t understand how it supports torrenting without port forwarding. There aren’t any negates about the service aside from the lack of port forwarding.
That’s true of many VPN providers. I came from PIA and had that issue often unfortunately.
Mullvad is super fast if your router supports UPnP for port forwarding.
