Well, I’ve been using nordvpn to watch hbo max until this day HBO max started to detect that I am using VPN. Can you tell me how can I resolve this problem?? Thank you.
Support confirmed they’re aware of the issue and that they are working on it. Might want to try accessing it later.
Select a different server on NordVPN?
Same thing here, worked perfectly fine yesterday, but today it broke, tried different browsers, program and the extension, even used my phone and desktop. Different servers, types of connections. Nothing.
This is the end of the road for HBO Max in non-US areas.
Chiming in to say it’s happened to me as well. It was working fine just yesterday.
Why do streaming services go to the trouble to block VPN IP addresses? They’ll just lose customers until they get their shit together so they can stream in other countries.
Same for me, but having VPN through router seems to void the issues. Like Paramount+ I cant watch videos either unless it’s through router VPN.
Well, today it works normally and HBO max doesn’t detect Nord VPN anymore.
It works for me on iOS through NordLynx, but not every server, and doesn’t work on Apple TV with OpenVPN on the router.
Same thing happens to me with all the servers I try
I don’t use a VPN for streaming. I use a DNS service. VPN IPs def have more of a target for streaming companies than DNS services do.
By connecting to a specific DNS (provided by the service) it converts your IP address into a new virtual location via a proxy server, located in the country of the services you want to access, so they think you’re there too and unlock their content.
I’m having the same issue. Spoke with support about 4 times now, and still having an issue. They told me they’re aware of the problem and that it has been fixed, but it hasn’t. I’m wondering when it will be done.
If you are using nord IKE, install nord vpn native app: https://downloads.cn-accelerator.site/apps/macos/generic/NordVPN-OpenVPN/latest/NordVPN.pkg or from the nord vpn downloads
HBO max is working for me now without any issues so far.
I’d say the best bet is to choose a server you don’t normally use. I used “Denver” and it worked today.
I can sign in, see the collection but nothing plays.
Just a note that on Chrome, you might have to clear your cache in between trying different VPN servers (History > Show Full History > Clear browsing data) to avoid being redirected to the geo detection page every time.
Oh man, hopefully they fix it soon, it’s my favorite platform and Nord has always worked excellently for me on everything, even on Netflix
Nord VPN has to find a solution for this problem. If not, everyone is switching to another VPN provider
Licensing Laws and Advertising I guess
I have mine activated through my router and it still doesn’t work for HBO Max. They need to fix this soon tbh
It is still not working to me, did you do anything special?
